Behind the Media with Hannah Bloom

Veronica Gizuk • Apr 19, 2022

Growing up in San Diego, Hannah Bloom’s love for horses started early. The daughter of professional jockey Jeffery Bloom, Hannah spent much of her childhood at the track.

Hannah’s dream was to be on TVG growing up, spending many of her summers at Del Mar shadowing Christina Blacker. Hannah’s career aspirations changed once she headed to the University of Arizona, where she studied Journalism and Communication. Prior to graduating in 2018, Hannah spent two summers working at Del Mar, including a marketing internship.

After graduating, Hannah gained social media experience with her family's racing stable—Bloom Racing—covering the campaigns of champion Midnight Bisou and the rest of the Bloom horses. Hannah went on to join Grand Slam Social as an intern and joined the team full time in January of 2020 as their account coordinator. Hannah has worked on social media accounts for Breeders’ Cup, Fasig-Tipton, MyRacehorse (her main client) and Del Mar Racetrack. In 2021, MyRacehorse and Grand Slam Social merged, moving Hannah into a full-time role with MyRacehorse as their social marketing manager. Hannah manages all of My Racehorse’s social media channels including MyRacehorses partner company, Edge Racing and assists the marketing director with email communications, paid advertising and various other responsibilities.

“I love that I am constantly learning new things in the marketing world, and the community within MRH (our wonderful owners) is what keeps me going,” said Hannah. “I truly do believe what Michael Behrens (CEO & Founder) is  doing is changing the sport for the better and gives everyone a chance to say they are an owner.”
