Growing up taking field trips to Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum, Kyle quickly found a love for horse racing at a young age.

Growing up in a horse racing family, it was in Ashlea’s blood to follow in family members’ footsteps. While Ashlea was younger, she spent a lot of time at her aunt’s stables at Ascot in Western Australia, and over the years, this developed her love for racehorses.

The newly appointed General Manager of Haydock Park, Molly Dingwall, took some time out at the end of a busy Carlisle Bell day to look back on her career in racing so far and chat about how she got involved in the industry.

Known for his outstanding Eclipse Award-winning photography, Alex Evers has become a familiar name for those in horse racing. Alex grew up in a family who enjoyed watching racing so much that his father wanted to name him Alydar. Following the sport closely and going to the track growing up, Alex knew he wanted to find himself a career within the industry. Knowing he was too big to ride, Alex opted for playing hockey and headed for the University of Arizona, where he was enrolled for just 21 days when he realized he would rather be at the track. Alex left university, got himself a camera and never turned back.

If you attended the Kentucky Derby or watched it on TV, you likely caught a glimpse of 6-year-old racing fan Austin Erickson. Though he may be small in size, Austin has a smile that you could see for miles, especially while around horses.

Rich Strike’s upset win in the 148th Kentucky Derby was a breath of fresh air for the industry and one that will be remembered, especially by the Reed family.

Growing up in Venezuela, surrounded by extraordinary horsemen from an early age, is trainer Jose D'Angelo. Jose is the son of Gulfstream based trainer Francisco D'Angelo. Francisco was the leading trainer in Venezuela multiple times.

It’s no secret that the love for horses runs deep in the Carroll family. Daughter of David Carroll—a current assistant to Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse—Aisling spent quite a bit of time as a kid at the track with her father, who once ran his own operation at Churchill Downs.
